MEL Owen sets her sights on former lover Jack Branning in EastEnders next week, months after ditching him for murdered bigamist Ray Kelly.
After discovering that a vandal has thrown a brick through her window, Mel –played by Tamzin Outhwaite in the BBC soap – calls landlord Jack to sort out a repair.
But when he arrives at the house he’s thrown by how fragile Mel appears.
He persuades her to stay at his so she isn’t alone but when he heads off to pick the kids up, a suspicious Rainie quizzes Mel about Jack.
What’s Mel up to?
When Jack is unable to repair the window, he insists on staying with Mel so he knows she’s safe.
Mel tries her best to impress Jack – Scott Maslen – with breakfast but he sees through her efforts and knows she’s just trying to butter him up so he’ll let her stay in the house and not evict her.
When Jack offers to put CCTV in, Mel ends up snapping at him, knowing her plan hasn’t worked.
Running out of options, she heads off to find Phil Mitchell where she demands her cut from the money laundering scheme.
Later, Mel calls Jack to talk about the CCTV and makes sure he catches her counting out the money.
Jack’s intrigued as to where she got it from and she tells him it’s from some long forgotten shares.
Pleased that Jack’s taken the bait, Mel later asks Jack if he’d like to go into business with her.
What will he say? And why is Mel trying to get close to the man she blames for her son Hunter’s imprisonment?
