Fans were left shocked at the Lucifer season three finale when Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) saw Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) devil side for the first time after not wanting to believe the truth.
Season three of the show, then on Fox, ended without fans seeing her reaction and whether the revelation has broken the pair’s romance and fans’ dreams of a Deckerstar future.
Actress Lauren has seen the fan desperation to know what her reaction is and knows the one question on everyone’s lips is: “Is knowing he’s the Devil going to be a roadblock to them going to Bonetown?”
She has revealed to TVLine there is hope for the pair in the new Netflix season, even though her worst fears have been confirmed.
She’s madly in love with him
She said: “When I did press at the start of the break, I was asked what I thought Chloe’s reaction might be, and it is pretty much in line with what I guessed.
“I guessed that she would support him and love him, but be a little scared. She is, I think, in love with him, but just in denial.”
It must be a very special love for her to see past it.
However, Lauren admits it’s the uncertainty that was killing Chloe more than the truth will: “Seeing what he is and opening up that Pandora’s Box is terrifying to her. And yet there’s also some relief, because it seemed like Chloe was looking for the truth all along, always asking, ‘What is up with you? What’s your deal?’”
Having that uncertainty disappear might be the glue that finally binds them together.
She also added: “All jokes aside, people come along in your life and you don’t know why you love them, but you do. And I think that is what she has with Lucifer. So yeah, I fully think she would go to Bonetown. Because she’s madly in love with him.”
Although, the arrival of rival Eve (Inbar Lavi) could be an even bigger threat to their future happiness than Lucifer’s revelation was.
The good-girl-gone-bad Eve is to set season four alight when she arrives for intimate scenes with Lucifer.
She will be a big temptation for Lucifer as he tries to deal with the fallout from the face revelation.
Eve may be out for revenge after Lucifer killed her son in the previous season and cause whole new complications for Lucifer.
The season four trailer leaves it very ambiguous whether he and Chloe can salvage the relationship and teases more romance between him and Eve.
Fans think the biggest obstacle to Lucifer’s future happiness is if something stands in the way of the Deckerstar romance.
Chloe is his first real love and there is no knowing what destruction the revelation will have and also what impact Eve will have.
However, one fan theory gaining traction after the season four trailer release is that Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) will actually be Eve’s love interest.
Fans were speculating about the romance after the trailer teased intimate scenes between the pair and Maze star Lesley-Ann did everything to fan the flames of this rumour on Twitter.
The star has previously revealed a huge love interest will dominate Maze’s season and she will finally find love.
Lucifer season four arrives May 8 on Netflix.
