Love Island 2019 lost a contestant yesterday (Tuesday, June 12) after Sherif Lanre confirmed his exit from the villa. Sherif made his mutual decision with ITV programme-makers but his reason for quitting remains a mystery. But could he appear on Love Island: Aftersun to address the controversy and put to bed any rumours?
Sherif left Love Island after he broke the rules in the villa.
“After breaking the villa rules S had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa,” a Love Island spokesperson told Express.co.uk.
While Sherif added: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
WHY HAS SHERIF LANRE LEFT LOVE ISLAND?
“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
Sherif appeared on the show for the last time in yesterday’s episode but only featured briefly.
WILL SHERIF LANRE BE REPLACED ON LOVE ISLAND?
Halfway through the episode, Love Island commentator Iain Stirling informed the audience: “Earlier today, following conversations with the producers, Sherif left the villa. But for other Islanders, it’s another day in paradise.”
No reason has been given specifically about which rules Sherif broke which led him to walk away from the villa.
However, there are rules on nudity, sex, mobile phones and contraband that Islanders have to adhere to or risk getting the boot.
WHO IS SHERIF LANRE ON LOVE ISLAND 2019?
Will Sharif Lanre appear on Love Island Aftersun after leaving?
Express.co.uk has approached ITV for comment on whether Sherif will be appeared on Love Island: Aftersun.
Aftersun airs every Sunday on ITV2 at 10pm after the main programme has wrapped up with celebrity Love Island fans and former Islanders getting into the nitty gritty of the week’s drama.

WHAT ARE THE RULES ON LOVE ISLAND 2019?
But it seems uncertain whether Sherif will be on the show and break his silence.
Host Caroline Flack has already spoken about why some of the contestants have been getting less screen time and it seems highly likely she will also speak out about this.
Even Sherif’s family seem to be in the dark about the matter, telling the Daily Mail: “I don’t know the real reason yet, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of it.
“I need to look at his Love Island code of conduct and I need to speak to him properly to find out what really happened.
“But I’m his mum, I’m going to think it was a bit unfair. I think so. I’m going to defend my son.”
Sherif’s exit means his partner Anna Vakili is now single and will be looking to couple up.
Love Island airs on ITV2 on weekday nights and Sundays at 9pm
