Love Actually is always one of the most-watched films during the festive period.
But this year, fans of the Christmas movie have noticed a bit of an accidentally-awkward moment.
One of the funniest scenes in the Richard Curtis movie saw Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly play themselves as they hosted a poptastic TV show that welcomed Bill Nighy’s Billy Mack to plug his new single.
The scene was filmed years before Ant’s own battle with addiction to prescription painkillers and alcohol and two stints in rehab.
Ant first entered a rehab facility last summer, citing an addiction to prescription drugs.
He returned to screens for last year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but later stepped down from his presenting duties when he was found guilty of drink-driving.
He was fined £86,000 and banned from the roads for 20 months, and announced that he’d be stepping down from his ITV hosting jobs to concentrate on his recovery.
In the scenes from Love Actually, Bill’s character is having a bit of an on-camera meltdown as he talks about the boys from Blue slagging off his new single.
The best pals stand awkwardly looking down the lens as Bill says: "Hi kids, here’s an important message from your Uncle Bill.
"Don’t buy drugs … become a pop star and they give you them for free."
Ant and Dec both lift their fingers to their ear pieces and Ant jumps in, saying: "And I do believe it’s a commercial break, so we’ll see you soon, bye bye."
One fan who’d been rewatching the movie in the run up to Christmas said on Twitter: "Watched Love Actually yesterday and it hasn’t aged well. When Bill Nighy’s character was doing a TV interview he turned to the camera and told all the kids watching not to do drugs. The interview was with Ant and Dec…"
Others couldn’t stop laughing at Bill calling Dec ‘Ant or Dec’.
One said: "And who can forget the unforgettable cameo in Love Actually! Ant or Dec"
"’Yes I do Ant or Dec’ is the best line in this film," another posted.
And another said: "’Yes I have, Ant-or-Dec’ is the most underrated line of the movie"
While one wrote: "Have commenced this season’s rewatch of Love Actually. Noticed for the first time that Bill Nighy’s character addresses Dec as ‘Ant or Dec’
"The joke was lost on me before since I only recently learned who Ant and Dec are, lol"
And others couldn’t get over how much the boys have changed in the 15 years since the movie was released.
One said: "Ant and dec look so young in Love actually!!"
