Ewan McGregor ‘wants judge to declare him single’ before divorce is finalised

Ewan McGregor is still in the process of divorcing his estranged wife Eve Mavrakis, but he already wants to be considered single, according to new reports.

The Star Wars actor, 48, wants his relationship status to be officially changed before the divorce is finalised, according to documents obtained by People .

He states in the documents "that a termination of the status of our marriage at this time will assist in [the] resolution of the balance of this matter".

Ewan filed for divorce from Eve in January 2018 after 22 years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences".

Shortly after that he began dating his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 34.

He shares four daughters with his ex-wife, Clara, 23; Jamyan, 18; Esther, 17, who turns 18 this week, and Anouk, eight.

When he filed for divorce he petitioned for joint custody of their children but Eve filed for sole physical custody with visitation for Ewan, according to TMZ .

Ewan said he is willing to pay spousal support and their assets should be divided evenly as there is no prenup.

Assets include a community estate valued at $25million (£19.5million), plus jointly held retirement plans valued at $1.3million (£1million).

Shortly after he filed for divorce, Eve said: "It's disappointing and upsetting but my main concern is our four children are OK."

Their eldest daughter Clara also opened up about their split saying she "strongly disagrees" with how her dad left her mum for his co-star, but admits she regrets calling her a "piece of trash".

She left the scathing message on an Instagram fan page of the actress, writing: "'Most beautiful and talented woman on earth? Oh man y'all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash x."

But Clara later backtracked, admitting that it "wasn't the most mature way to go about things".

Admitting she was angry and upset over the situation and how family life as she knew it came crashing down, Clara told The Times: "There had been a lot building up to it and a lot to deal with, not to make excuses or anything, but, yeah, it wasn’t my finest moment.

"But I’m not afraid to speak out if I feel strongly about something."
