Jamie Redknapp, 47, and Louise Redknapp, 45, split in 2017 after 19 years of marriage. They have remained friends and amicably co-parent their sons Charley, 15, and Beau, 11. Ahead of their split, the football pundit supported Louise on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.

I’ve never really felt uncomfortable with a joke.

Jamie has not publicly addressed their split, but has now insisted his pals had made jokes about his marriage when Louise took part on the BBC show.

Louise got to the final of Strictly Come Dancing with Kevin Clifton in 2016.

The show is often hit with curse rumours, a term used to describe the breakdown of a relationship of somebody competing on the show.

There is no suggestion anything went on between Louise and Kevin, however she split from Jamie the following year.

At the time, Kevin was still with his wife Karen Hauer, who he split from in 2018.

Jamie said he didn’t mind the relentless jokes about the curse and took it on the chin.

He told The Independent: “Of course, Freddie and I get some stick but there’s nobody who gives it and can’t take it.

“I’ve never really felt uncomfortable with a joke. I’ve been in football dressing rooms since I was 11 years of age and there was always a lot of slagging.

“I was in the Liverpool dressing-room with Ray Houghton, John Barnes and Ronnie Whelan.

“If you can handle that, you can handle A League of Their Own.”

A League of Their Own mainly features Jamie and his co-stars Romesh Ranganathan and Freddie Flintoff.

In his personal life, the father-of-two is rumoured to be dating swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie.

His dad Harry Redknapp recently revealed the family had met Frida, but didn’t want to discuss his new romance too much.

He told The Sun: “We did meet Frida and she is lovely, very nice, but I don’t want to talk about Jamie’s new relationship.

“The last thing I want to do is upset Lou. It is upsetting that Jamie and Lou aren’t together. It was a complete shock.

“We love Lou, we still speak to her of course. Sandra speaks to her mum.”

Louise, who is single, recently revealed she is set to release a tell-all book titled You Got This.

Following her announcement, Jamie is said to have unfollowed her on Instagram.

Teasing details about her book, the singer wrote on Instagram: “I wanted to write a book that was empowering and uplifting – a little bit of a love letter to anyone who has ever wondered if they’re getting it right in life… you got this x.”

Jamie is also set to release his book Me, Family and the Making of a Footballer next month, but previously admitted he decided to keep private details out of it.

During the process of writing the book, he told Express.co.uk: “I’ve never wanted to do something about my whole life.

“I just think there’s some stuff you’ve got to leave out.

“I don’t want to tiptoe around people. This is going to be from growing up from birth to, I think, when I made my Liverpool debut, that’ll probably be it.”
