Scarlett Johansson has revealed details on fiancé Colin Jost’s proposal method, and it sounds like her future husband went all out when asking her to marry him.
The Jojo Rabbit actor, 34, revealed Colin channelled action hero James Bond as he got down on one knee, telling Ellen DeGeneres: ‘He killed it.
‘He did, like, a whole James Bond situation…it was surprising. He’s got a lot behind that news desk that he’s hiding.’
Colin proposed in May, and Scarlett said the proposal itself was a beautiful moment: ‘It was very personal.
‘He’s very charming and very thoughtful and romantic. But yeah, I was surprised. Even if you kind of imagine what that moment’s gonna be like, it’s still beautiful moment.
‘It was a very special moment. And I think, more than anything, when someone tells you they want to share the rest of their life with you, it’s a lovely, special thing.’
Despite getting engaged, Scarlett is yet to set a date for the big day – the downside of being a super busy Hollywood star, duh.
She explained: ‘I have to clear my schedule first!’
Scarlett and Saturday Night Live comedian Colin have been dating since July 2017, after she divorced her ex-husband Romain Dauriac, with whom she shares her five-year-old daughter Rose.
It’s no surprise she’s yet to have time to think about wedding plans – which are time-consuming enough on their on – as she has been on the promo trail for new film Jojo Rabbit, with director Taika Waititi.
Colin had also admitted that before his proposal, he was terrified of the idea of marriage, explaining during a stand-up set: ‘I was so scared of marriage for so long because every time I talked to someone who just got married, or was about to get married, is like, “Oh my God, you got to do it … What could go wrong?”
‘Then you talk to someone who’s been married for five years, and they’re like, “Don’t rush into it … you have your whole life ahead of you. Don’t have kids. They’re the worst.”’
