SYD Little rose to fame as one-half of one of TV's most popular comedy double acts of the 70s: Little and Large.
The comedian turned waiter has now signed up to appear on The Real Marigold Hotel but how old is the showbiz legend and when was he on Celebrity MasterChef? Here is the lowdown…
Who is Syd Little?
Syd Little was born Cyril Mead on December 19, 1942, and is best known as one half of TV double act Little and Large.
Prior to his TV fame, the 75-year-old worked as an interior designer before touring Manchester pubs as a singer and guitarist.
He has two children with wife Sheree and the two currently co-run the Steamer pub in his hometown of Fleetwood.
In 2015, he took part in BBC's Celebrity MasterChef but he was eliminated after the third round.
Who are Little and Large?
While performing guitar at a club one night Syd's friend Eddie McGinnis joined him on stage for a chorus of singing and comedy.
What spawned was one of TV's most successful double acts and after rebranding themselves as Little and Large the two rose to fame after winning ITV talent show Opportunity Knocks in 1971.
Syd's more serious 'straight' guy persona served against Eddie's funnyman stick proved a winning formula for almost 20 years.
The two's show ran from 1978-1991 and at its peak was seen by 18 million viewers and they also starred in The Royal Variety Show during the Queen’s jubilee year.

When does The Real Marigold Hotel series 3 start?
The Real Marigold Hotel returns for its third series on Wednesday August 1.
You can catch the second episode of the third series of The Real Marigold Hotel on BBC1 at 9pm.
The hit reality show takes senior celebrities to India to see how they would fare retiring on the other side of the world.
Joining Janette and her husband Ian in the cast is Selina Scott, Stephanie Beacham, and Stanley Johnson.
