A JUNK food addict looks ten years younger after shedding an impressive five stone – without exercise.
Irene Roman, 45, looks so different now that she claims people don't recognise her anymore.
Just 18 months ago, the tipped the scales at 13st 7lbs and wearing a size 18.
Her weight had piled on thanks to years of skipping breakfast and plumping for greasy takeaways, chocolate, crisps, cakes and litres of Coke Zero later on in the day.
“When I started working in childcare, I always skipped breakfast and didn’t start eating until lunchtime. I’d binge on junk food throughout the day," she said.
“I used to eat a lot of unhealthy high-fat food and could finish 1.25L of Coke Zero in a day.
Irene, from New South Wales, Oz, used to drive through McDonald's to eat a large burger meal with hot chips before eating again at home for a second dinner.
“After that, there would be another round of binge eating with cakes, chocolate, and chips included.
“I’d have so many calories in a day and was not exercising at all. A lot of it was comfort and boredom eating."
But in November 2017, the childcare worker finally had enough of "hating" her own reflection and decided to quit her habit for good.
And so she ditched the junk and followed the "Slim By Nature" detox and fat burning programme – which focuses on whole foods.
Instead of comfort eating on fat and sugar, she now fills up on lean proteins, fresh fruits and veggies.
What is Slim By Nature?
Slim By Nature is an Australian detox brand which claims to work in four phases.
Phase 1 – Loading: Lasts for two days and you can eat whatever and however much you want in combination with Detox Drops or Patches
Phase 2 – Detox & Fat Burning: Detox phase with meal plans and Detox Drops/Patches – eliminating foods that cause inflammation
Phase 3 – Maintenance: Last for three weeks and sees you gradually go back to regular eating while taking Maintenance Drops
Phase 4 – The Results: By this point, you're supposed to have learned what foods and self-care methods work best for you
There are three types of detox: Starter Detox (7kg in 26 days), Complete Detox (15kg in 43 days) or Accelerated Detox (20kg in 60 days)
As well as the online products, the programme has its own private Facebook community for coaching, advice and peer support.
She also drink water over pop.
She said: “The ‘Slim By Nature’ program was amazing and so easy to follow.
“Nowadays, I’ll usually make myself a cup of coffee and eat a fruit snack in the morning.
“Lunch is usually chicken, a salad, or tuna. I now eat an apple for an afternoon snack, along with a cup of tea. No more McDonalds or KFC.
“Dinner is a combination of meat and vegetables, something like healthy minced bolognese with courgette noodles."
Proving that much of weight loss is to do with diet rather than exercise, Irene says that she "never goes to the gym or does crazy workouts".
"I lost all my weight through healthy eating and changing my mindset.”
But that doesn't mean that she's not active.
In fact, since losing weight, Irene has turned into something of an adrenaline junkie.
She celebrated reaching her goal weight by going skydiving – something she never thought she would do because of her weight.
“I always used to avoid any strenuous activities or sports. But after I lost the weight, I knew I wanted to celebrate by going skydiving," she recalled.
“It was such an amazing way to mark my weight loss, and since then I’ve done other things like ziplining in New Zealand and ride race cars in Melbourne.
“I’ve gained so much more confidence than ever before. I have so much more social confidence to go out with friends and be happy with the way I look.
“I have so much more energy and no longer feel sluggish and unmotivated. I feel alive."
And that extra zest for life has taken years off her appearance.
She says that people didn't recognise her after the weight loss, and that they're often not sure how old she is.
“Not only do people say I look younger, but I feel so much younger now too.

Lunch: Large takeaway burger meal with fries or a large portion of high-fat Chinese food
Dinner: Another takeaway meal or a large home-cooked meal heavy on carbs
Snacks: Chocolate, potato chips, fries, cakes, cheese and Coke Zero

Breakfast: Coffee with a piece of fruit
Lunch: Chicken or tuna salad
Dinner: Lean meat with vegetables, such as bolognese with courgette noodles
Snacks: Fruit, tuna and lemon-infused water
"Looking at myself at my heaviest, I can see it was always a fake smile.
"But now when I have photos taken, it’s real and not fake or forced.
“I’m happier than ever and I never want to go back to how I was. I’m really looking forward to the future.”
