WITH Boris Johnson on a drive to battle obesity, now’s the time to load up on fruit and veg.

  • Boxxfresh delivery service, from £17 at – buy now

BOXXFRESH is a delivery service for those who want to know exactly what they are getting.

Select your box size then fill it. I went for Isle of Wight tomatoes, cherries, parsley and broccoli. All were super-fresh and wrapped in brown paper.

Add other plant-based extras such as olive oil, pesto and sweet potato loaf. No subscription needed.

Abel & Cole

  • Abel & Cole delivery, from £13.25 a week at – buy now

ABEL & Cole focus on seasonal, organic veg, grown as close to home as possible.

I got the medium box of salad leaves, fennel, vine tomatoes, carrots, courgettes and potatoes.

All very fresh and the packaging is recyclable or reusable.

The delivery is each Monday and lists what to eat first, with recipes using the contents. My favourite.

  • Oddbox delivery, from £9.45 at – buy now

ODDBOX is a sustainable service that works with farms to save wonky carrots or oversize apples supermarkets might reject and reduces plastic waste by delivering food in recyclable cardboard boxes.

Also provides storage instructions and recipes ideas.

My box included some delicious rhubarb and gooseberries.

  • Axiology Balmies, £12 from – buy now

Multi-purpose crayon for eyes, lips and cheeks.

The crayon seems tiny but is the same size as a standard lipstick without all the unnecessary plastic and outer packaging.

Formulated with the antioxidants hemp, elderberry and plum oils to hydrate and heal the skin as a balm would.

I used the clementine shade for my cheeks and preferred it to my powder blush. The carry case is fully recyclable too.

  • Benefit LoveTint, £15.50 from – buy now

A long-lasting, vibrant red lip and cheek stain.

The bright colour means only a very small amount is needed on the cheeks but lip colour can be tailored to a light tint or increase the layers for a deeper colour.

Dries quickly and I found it totally smudge-proof.

Meant to suit all skin tones and I loved it as a lipstick . . .  but it didn’t suit me as a blush.

  • Ciaté Dewy Blush, £19 from – buy now

A gel balm for use on lips and cheeks. Lightweight for a subtle hint of colour and leaves skin with a gorgeous dewy sheen.

Formulated with exotic extracts and available in four natural shades designed to suit all skin tones.

Names clearly indicate fragrances: Coconut, pomegranate, watermelon and papaya.

Smells amazing and gives a wonderfully natural glow. My favourite.
