It’s not a bonus episode or behind-the-scenes footage: A video of “Tiger King” star Joe Exotic’s full three-way wedding ceremony has long been available on YouTube, but hungry fans have rediscovered it in the wake of the Netflix series reaching smash-hit status.
“The wedding of the Century for animal people and supporters of Joe Exotic, John and Travis,” the clip is captioned. It has racked up over 227,000 views.
It was uploaded to Exotic’s YouTube channel shortly after the 2014 wedding. The ceremony officiates Joseph “Exotic” Maldonado-Passage’s polygamist relationships with John Finlay and Travis Maldonado, both of whom met him while working at his Wynnewood, Oklahoma zoo.
The clip begins with a take on the classic 20th Century Fox opening theme where Exotic’s name reads instead of the studio’s.
“We do,” the men, all wearing pink button-up shirts with white corsages, say in the video, which is set to a series of Exotic’s original, big cat-themed songs.
Despite the fanfare of the multi-man non-legally binding marriage, it didn’t last. Exotic officially married his current husband, Dillon Passage, two months later.
Passage, 24, continues to stand by Exotic, who is now serving a 22-year sentence for falsifying wildlife records, violating the Endangered Species Act by killing five tiger cubs, and federal charges for a 2017 murder-for-hire scheme targeting Big Cat Rescue founder and arch-nemesis Carole Baskin.
He was recently transferred from a coronavirus isolation at an Oklahoma jail to a prison medical center in Texas.
