Get £5 off M&S and H&M spends with MoneySavingExpert’s simple hack

You can get £5 off your next clothes shop if you use these recycling schemes.

Plenty of retailers offer you vouchers when you bring in a bag of old clothes that you no longer want.

Not only does it allow you to save money at retailers like M&S and H&M, it also makes you feel good too.

Recycling unwanted garments is good for the environment – and it will be nice to have a bit more wardrobe space too.

MoneySavingExpert has put together a handy guide of the shops that run these recycling promotions.

Here are the top discounts you need to know about.

Schuh

The “sell your soles” scheme allows you to donate any pair of shoes you have at home.

In exchange, you’ll get a £5 off voucher.

This is redeemable when you spend £25 or more in store – so you’ll be able to get your Dr Martens, Nike and Adidas a lot cheaper.

H&M

The retailer has been making strides to be more environmentally aware.

Its launched a “Conscious” range that only includes items that are "made from at least 50% sustainably sourced materials – like organic cotton and recycled polyester”.

H&M also allows customers to get £5 off a £25 when they donate a supermarket-sized carrier bag of clothes in store.

They don’t have to be branded or in great condition so it’s a great way to get rid of items you no longer wear.

Marks and Spencer

M&S shoppers can get £5 off a £35 spend when they recycle.

They should be of decent quality as the items are donated to Oxfam stores and not recycled.

Customers must also include one product in your bag that’s from M&S.

Monki and Arket – 10%

These H&M-owned brands allow you to save 10% when you bring in a bag of clothes.

Shoes aren’t accepted, but old textile scraps are too.

The products will be recycled so you don’t have to worry about them being thrown into landfill.
