Jennifer Lopez is thrilled that her immortal Versace dress, the one that shook the world with a neckline that plunged well below her navel, is having a second act.
Lopez wore the showstopping, semi-sheer number to the Grammy Awards in 2000, causing such pop-culture pandemonium that it catapulted her to superstardom.
Earlier this month, model Amber Valletta, who originally wore the gown on the catwalk in 1999, walked the runway in a new version at Donatella Versace’s New York fashion show.
“I love it,” Lopez tells USA TODAY of the dress’ return, during an interview for her upcoming movie “Second Act” (in theaters Dec. 21).

Lopez, 49, wore a lookalike outfit onstage for an encore at her 2014 homecoming concert in the Bronx. But she won’t be tempted to bring it back herself.
“I did the whole Versace thing again. I think I’m done with that,” says Lopez. “I wouldn’t rock it again on a red carpet. But it lives in my house. It’s on a little mannequin in my house.”
So like where in the house? The living room?
“No, that would be creepy and weird,” she says. “It’s like in a closet. It’s on a dress form.”
