The Duchess of Cambridge seems to be taking style inspiration from her sister-in-law Meghan Markle as she showed off a smart and stylish look today.
Kate looked very modern as she stepped off the plane at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus wearing a pair of smart black flared trousers, a cream top and a green blazer.
While we see Kate in jeans regularly at less formal events, the Duchess normally favours skirts and dresses at smarter occasions.
Her sister-in-law Meghan on the other hand is a big fan of trousers and has worn flares and suits to a number of engagements.
Fashion experts believe Kate was wearing the appropriately named Smythe Duchess Wool Blazer, which costs £576.
The bag is thought to be from LK Bennett London.
It was also a new hairstyle for the Duchess who opted for a half-up half-down look with a lot of volume on the top.
Kate and William were in the country to meet service personnel who will be away from their families for Christmas.
They were given a guided tour of the base before William gave a speech speaking of his admiration for the sacrifices they are making for their country.
Yesterday the couple hosted a Christmas party at Kensington Palace for the families of the people stationed at the base.
Kate gave a speech at the event, speaking about how she missed William when he was away during his time in the RAF.
She said: "As someone who’s husband has served, I know hard it feels when a loved one leaves home for the job they trained for.
"When William served in the Falklands or with Search and Rescue, I remember how it felt. But I can’t imagine how it feels when your loved ones are away on active service.
"The absence of people you love must be especially hard at this time of year."
