Meghan and Harry have some very famous faces on their baby’s godparent shortlist

Some very high profile figures have been hotly tipped to be chosen as godparents to Baby Sussex.

Following the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first baby, the bookies have made Jessica Mulroney clear 1/10 favourite in the betting.

Mulroney is a Canadian fashion stylist who works on TV show CityLine and is a very close friend of Meghan.

Along with her husband Ben, who is the son of former Prime Minister of Canada Brian Mulroney, the 39-year-old attended Harry and Meghan's wedding where their children were page boys and flower girls.

Next Ladbrokes have Charlie Van Straubenzee at 1/7.

The investment banker met Harry and Will at Ludgrove School, later going on to be an usher at the younger brother's wedding.

Prince Harry reportedly served as best man in 2018 when Van Straubenzee's married Daisy Jenks.

Following on from the businessman are Will and Kate, who have been given odds of 4/1.

Fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who is believed to have introduced Harry and Meghan, has favourable odds of 5/2.

Surprisingly short odds have been offered for perhaps the most A-list of A-list couples, George and Amal Clooney.

As well as sharing a birthday with Baby Sussex, George, along with human rights lawyer wife Amal, attended the royal wedding last year.

Over the summer Meghan and Harry spent time at the Clooney's home in Lake Como, Italy, catapulting the celebrity couple to 6/1 odds.

There is a good chance that Meghan – who is planing to buy a house close to her mum in Los Angeles and who keeps her old friends close – may chose to go with a longer term companion.

One such person is Benita Litt, whose children Remi and Rylan had official roles at the Duke and Duchess's wedding.

Meghan, who is their godmother, affectionately refers to the kids as her 'fairy goddaughters', leading to odds of 5/1 for Benita.

Horse racing aficionados Jake and Zoe Warren, and author Lindsay Jill Roth, bring up the rear with odds of 10/1.
