The Duchess of Sussex dressed up an understated outfit with jewellery that once belonged to Princess Diana as she stepped out to launch her charity clothing range this afternoon.
Meghan Markle, 38 wore a gold bracelet and glittering diamond butterfly earrings from the late royal’s personal collection as she arrived for the official unveiling of her Smart Set collection in London.
The family heirlooms were worn alongside an armful of gold bracelets worth more than £2,000, including ones the Duchess has worn on previous public outings.
The statement jewellery served to elevate the Duchess’ otherwise pared back ensemble of a £120 Misha Nonoo shirt and £120 Jigsaw suit trousers, both of which are from her new charity range.

It is not the first time the Duchess has dressed up an otherwise low-key look by layering up the jewellery.
At Princess Eugenie’s wedding last year, the Duchess drew much comment for the rings she wore with her pared back look.
Meghan has long spoken of her love for stacking jewellery, and today was no different.
The royal looked in her own beloved collection for pieces , including the Shaun Leane Gold Signature Tusk Diamond Bracelet, which comes with a pricetag of £950, and the Zofia Day Open Diamond Cuff, which costs an estimated $1,200 (£972).

The royal made a touching nod to Princess Diana at the event by donning her bracelet and butterfly earrings.
Meghan has worn the beautiful gold bracelet with blue stones on a number of occasions, including on her first tour as a royal to Australia and New Zealand.
She made a second tribute to Princess Diana by donning her famous beautiful earrings, first worn by the late Princess Diana of Wales on her 1986 royal tour to Canada.

The appearance occurred a year-and-a-half after Diana gave birth to Prince Harry.
Meghan is well known for her love of dressing up more simple understated outfits with decadent jewellery worth thousands.
At Princess Eugenie’s wedding, the royal donned over £6,000 worth of jewellery by designer Pippa Small, including several intricate costume-style rings.
Meghan unveiled her full Smart Works collaboration earlier today, with all five items will be available to buy both in store and online from today.
The items include: a £19.50 dress from Marks & Spencer; a £109 John Lewis tote bag; a £120 shirt from Meghan’s designer friend Misha Nonoo; and a £199 jacket and £120 trousers, both from Jigsaw.
