While rumours of royal rifts and feuds continue to swirl, the ever stoic Princess Anne has been busy getting on with the job on a visit to Chile.
The Queen’s daughter, 68, is visiting the South American country to take part in activities marking the 200th Anniversary of the Chilean Nay, with her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
Today, the royal joined Chile’s President Sebastian Pinera for commemorations aboard the amphibious ship Sergeant Aldea on the coasts of Valparaiso.
They were joined by First Lady Cecilia Morel, Chile’s Defense minister Alberto Espina and the commander-in-chief of the Chilean Navy Admiral Julio Leiva.
Princess Anne looked impeccably smart in her naval uniform as she chatted to dignitaries and inspected the guard of honour.

It’s the third visit to Chile for Princess Anne, who previously travelled to the country in 1991 and 2007.
Following the announcement of her latest visit, Britain’s ambassador to Chile said: ‘We are delighted that the Princess Royal will visit Chile in November and December.

Yesterday, the royal and her husband attended a firefighting drill at the George Garland firehouse in Valparais and put on a brave face as they risked getting showered during the demonstration.
