A cracking sprint handicap in prospect here.

There was only a head between ICE LORD and Wentworth Falls when they were third and fourth respectively at Newmarket, and there is barely anything between them in the betting.

Preference is for Chris Wall's eight-year-old. He did well to finish as close as he did that day, having been held up last and made up ground during the hottest part of the race.

He burrowed through a narrow gap on the rail to grab the bronze medal, while Wentworth Falls had a smoother path throughout.

They meet on the same terms again here but, as an eight-year-old, Ice Lord is particularly well-treated and is 1-1 over C&D.

Admiralty ran several crackers in valuable handicaps last season and this is a drop in class, though he is at his best over 7f.

Triggered fluffed the start when a never-nearer fourth at Haydock and could play a part if breaking on terms, while Flying Pursuit likes it here and continues to slide down the weights.

But the likeable Ice Lord is taken to bag a sixth career win for the underrated Chris Wall.
