The guest star was Barclay, a 5-month-old yellow Labrador Retriever puppy that the Blues front office adopted in October from Duo, an organization that trains and places service dogs, in order to socialize them.
Barclay, who has an Instagram account and is named after late Blues star Barclay Plager, was born in September, making him 35 months old in human years, way too young for the NHL draft.
But he showed some good speed, tenacity and balance while running around the ice.
And he has good dog sense in fetching a stick, albeit a composite hockey one.
Barclay, though, would have gotten in penalty trouble for his actions later in the session.
