1.40 SALISBURY

HAPPY POWER was third to the classy Space Blues at Haydock last time on the back of a close third in a Newmarket Group 3. That form looks decent and he likes this trip. Lord Tennyson drops in class and went close in a Listed contest over this distance in June. It’s still early days and he can improve.

1.55 THIRSK

INDIAN SOUNDS has been in cracking form over this trip with back-to-back wins at Bath. He clocked a scorching time when scoring last month and his good claimer takes 3lb of the weight rise off. Watchable went well here over six furlongs latest and will be competitive down in distance. Tanasoq loves it here and can nick a place after a fair effort at Haydock six days ago.

2.15 SALISBURY

POET’S DANCE gets a handy fillies’ weight allowance in this tight race. She won with plenty in hand over this trip at Yarmouth latest and can handle a hike in grade. Tone The Barone got the better of Konchek at Ascot 14 days ago and can confirm that form despite a 6lb rise in the weights.

2.30 THIRSK

INTRINSIC BOND was impressive when striking at Doncaster over this trip last time. He’s gone up 7lb for that but it was comfortable and he’s got more to offer. Musicka came back to his best when scoring at York and he’s got three Thirsk wins on his CV. He won’t be far away while Swissterious is another who ran a corker on the Knavesmire latest.

2.50 SALISBURY

SALAYEL was second in the red-hot Royal Hunt Cup before going close in a Pontefract Listed race last time. She takes a fair drop in class here and is weighted to win. Indie Angel has been going well over seven furlongs at Newmarket and should be competitive again if enjoying this trip. Separate didn’t get going at Goodwood and handicap debutante One Small Step should nick third.

3.10 CURRAGH

Ventura Tormenta just got the better of The Lir Jet at Chantilly last time but they could both struggle to stop STEEL BULL who was massively impressive when taking the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood. There’s more to come after just two runs.

3.25 SALISBURY

DUKE OF HAZZARD keeps running well including when second in the Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last week. The step back to a mile should help and he’ll be right there again. Motakhayyel steps out of handicap company where he’s landed two big wins this season. He was impressive at Newmarket latest and deserves this hike in class. Regal Reality has his sights lowered by Sir Michael Stoute and could be helped by the first-time visor. Positive has been holding his own at Group 1 level and is respected.

3.40 CURRAGH

MILLISLE is already a Group 1 winner and was impressive when scoring at Naas latest. She looks ahead of these rivals. Soniayla made it three victories on the spin with a gutsy success here last time and will enjoy the drop in trip. The fast pace will help Gulliver who went well in the Stewards’ Cup last week.
