Coronation Street's Sam Aston spotted out with baby Sonny for cobbles reunion

Coronation Street’s Sam Aston was every inch the proud dad as he was spotted with baby Sonny for the first time.

The 27-year-old – who plays Chesney on the ITV soap – welcomed his first child with wife Briony in August, confirming his arrival on Instagram.

And the parents were all smiles as they headed out for a spot of lunch with their little one.

New mum Briony held on to Sonny’s car seat on the day out – where they were joined by a string of Sam’s co-stars.

Brooke Vincent – who plays Sophie Webster on the soap – got in on the action, with son Mexx in tow.

While Hayley Tamaddon also tagged along to the gathering, bringing one-year-old son Jasper.

Sam and yoga teacher Briony announced Sonny’s arrival on Instagram this year, sharing an adorable picture of the newborn.

Alongside the snap, showing the actor delicately kissing the little one’s head, he wrote: ‘Welcome to the world little man.

‘Our little ray of sunshine. Sonny James Aston.’

The childhood sweethearts got engaged in 2017, when Sam got down on one knee at a charity golf dinner, in front of fellow cobbles stars Andy Whyment and Alan Halsall.

They eventually tied the knot last May, in an intimate ceremony at Stock Farm in Cheshire.

Briony recently revealed the sweet way she told her husband he was to become a dad in real life – with soap character Chesney welcoming quadruplets on the show.

Thankfully, her reveal was a little calmer, as she prepared Sam a breakfast of egg and soldiers, placed on a wooden board that read: ‘Daddy you’re a good egg’.

If he didn’t quite get the memo by that point, she placed her positive pregnancy test on the table as well.

Recalling the moment on Instagram, with a photo to boot, she told fans: ‘Sat waiting for my next midwife appointment and reminiscing over when our incredible journey started (the morning I woke at 3am and had to wait til breakfast time to tell Sam).’

So cute.
