Corrie's Faye Brookes self-isolating with boyfriend amid coronavirus

Coronation Street’s Faye Brookes and her boyfriend Joe Davies may have only been dating for three months, but they’ve clearly hit it off in a big way.

In fact, the Kate Connor actress is self-isolating with her new beau and his parents amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the pair making sweet videos together.

Personal trainer Joe has been keen to share workout clips, getting Faye involved as the pair of them keep fit together.

In one video, the couple lifted bottles of sparkling water (you can say they’re not resourceful), with Joe saying: ‘I got all the family involved tonight.’

Faye and Joe made their relationship official in December 2019, with them being spotted together during a night out in Manchester, and have been going strong ever since, sharing all the cute content we could ever need.

Previously, the soap star dated Gareth Gates for seven years, with the pair getting engaged before they split in August last year.

Around the time of the split, she hit back at romance rumours surrounding her and a friend.

‘It’s been a really weird week…’ she told her Twitter fans at the time. ‘I’ve been throwing myself into the gym pretty much everyday, anyone who knows me knows how much I love training and keeping fit!

What does self-isolation mean?

Self-isolation means staying indoors and avoiding all contact with other people for 14 days, according to the NHS.

It means no going to work, school, the shops or even to the park for some fresh air, in order to minimise the risk of passing on Covid-19.

Public transport and taxis are a no-no and you shouldn’t have visitors over, even if you just stay at home.

Anyone in self-isolation is advised to ask friends, family and delivery drivers to pick things up for you and drop them-off. You should put a sign outside telling people you are self-isolating and everything should be left on the floor outside your front door to avoid the risk of further infections.

Those who are self-isolating are still advised to stay away from their pets as much as possible and to wash their hands before and after touching them.

If you live in a house share and have to self-isolate, the advice is to stay in your room with the door closed and only emerge to use communal kitchens, bathrooms and living areas if absolutely necessary.

Who should self-isolate?

The government advises anyone returning from Category 1 areas (Hubei, Iran, Italy and Daegu or Cheongdo in South Korea), to go straight home and self-isolate, even if they don’t display any symptoms.

Travellers should use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do next.

Anyone returning from Category 2 areas should self-isolate and call 111 if they have Covid-19 symptoms. You can find the list of those places here.

‘It’s great for your physical and mental health. I’m a member of several gyms in Manchester including the fab Barry’s Bootcamp.

‘So (yesterday) there was a pap outside the gym when I got there, taking pictures of me & getting very excited with his camera because I walked in with one of the trainers from the gym – who is a friend,’ she explained.

‘I imagine that suggestions could be made from these pics that there is more to this. There isn’t. Just let a girl be, please.’

Faye left the soap back in 2019, and featured in some of its biggest storylines, including her character’s on-off relationship with Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).

Rana died in the factory roof collapse — on the pair’s wedding day — which left Kate heartbroken, and as a result she decided to depart the cobbles.
