Eamonn Holmes says his mum is ‘still lost’ 30 years on from dad’s tragic death

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes lifted the lid on his family after his dad's death while he and wife Ruth Langsford spoke to Vinnie Jones on the show today.

Vinnie made an appearance to talk about his wife Tanya's tragic death from cancer last year, leading Eamonn to talk about his own experience with grief.

Eamonn's dad died when he was just 65 after suffering a heart attack while driving through the countryside in Northern Ireland.

The presenter revealed that his mum is still lost without his dad as the pair discussed Vinnie's autobiography, as he said: "The book is called Lost Without You and to anybody who's going through this Vinnie, they are lost.

"I mean, my dad's dead 30 years and I can say that my mum is completely lost without him. She's been grieving 30 years without seeking help for it.

"A lot of people will be in that situation. Hopefully you won't be lost forever – do you think Tanya would want you to move on? Or how would you move on?

"It's early days to be even thinking about that but what are your thoughts?"

Vinnie said he didn't think he had to move on, adding: "I think the precious life that we had together for 27 years together is going to override the rest of my life.

"Where I do want to move on and help is Tanya's mum, Tanya's mum, her brother, her dad."

Vinnie appeared on Piers Morgan's Life Stories last weekend to speak about Tanya's death, admitting he didn't think he could move on from his wife.

He said: "I think that's an impossible question to answer but if you asked me if I would get married again that would be an impossibility, she wouldn't want that.

"There won't be another marriage Piers I can tell you that.

"It was the perfect one and done for me."

Tanya died at their Los Angeles home in June 2019 surrounded by their family.
