Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were greeted by an empty kitchen on This Morning after Gino D’Acampo failed to show up to introduce the segment.
Well, it’s not the first time you’ve been late Gino.
The TV chef was due to introduce the cooking segment for Tuesday’s instalment, where he would reveal to viewers that he would be doing a truffle masterclass.
However, when the camera panned to the studio kitchen, Gino was nowhere to be seen.
‘Prepare for chaos in the kitchen,’ Phillip explained to viewers. ‘Gino is here for his Tuesday truffle class – morning Gino!’
‘Morning,’ Holly added.
As the camera showed an empty kitchen, Phillip continued: ‘There he is, he did promise he’d be here for the beginning but, as usual, nah. Hasn’t made it in.’
‘I love how we used to readjust things, our timings to fit for him and now we’re like, no whatever – he’s not here,’ Holly chipped in. ‘Wherever you are, hurry up.’
Gino did eventually rock up, where he walked straight on to set with a coffee in his hand.
‘You were supposed to be here at half 10,’ Phillip told him.
The celebrity chef claimed to have an excuse for being late, as he explained to the hosts that it was his great auntie’s birthday, so he had been on the phone to her.
Despite coming in to work late, Holly couldn’t help but comment on the coffee cup Gino was holding.
Phillip then questioned why he was greeted with a cup of coffee, to which Gino joked: ‘What’s the point of working in showbiz if you have to make your own coffee?’
Viewers couldn’t help but take to Twitter to comment on Gino being late.
One tweeted: ‘Omggg I love Gino.’
Another said: ‘Sit down Gino, you’re late.’
One added: ‘Where’s Gino?’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
