How long they were married
Prince Charles’ brother met Fergie in 1985. Their matchmaker was Princess Diana, who was friends as well as fourth cousins with Ferguson. Diana recommended her to the queen and the future duchess was invited to a “dine and sleep event at Windsor Castle during Ascot week.” At dinner, Fergie was seated next to Andrew and that’s how their romantic relationship started.
The following year, the pair tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey. The royal affair was watched by millions around the world but there was trouble on the horizon for the pair.
They reportedly began having marital problems in 1991 due to Andrew’s naval career. But the published photos of Fergie getting her toes sucked by Texan businessman John Bryan while she was married to the prince was apparently the last straw as it was an embarrassment to the royal family. The pair separated in 1992 and ultimately divorced in 1996, a decade after they said “I do.”
Fergie and Andrew though have always remained close over the years. In fact, Ferguson has previously stated that they are the world’s “happiest divorced couple” and made it clear that she still has a deep love for her ex-husband.
“I think the love I had for him then, is the love I still have for him now,” she explained, adding, “I still married the best and he’s the greatest gentleman that I know.”

Thanks to the second royal wedding of 2018 you may now be aware that the duke and duchess have two children, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Before the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, the two sisters were the only females in the line of succession for the British throne.
Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s oldest daughter, Princess Beatrice of York, was born on Aug. 8, 1988. The princess suffers from dyslexia, but it has gotten much better with age. Today, she is the vice president of partnerships and strategy for Afiniti, which is a U.S.-based technology company.
They welcomed their second daughter, Princess Eugenie of York, on March 23, 1990. The princess made headlines in last year after announcing her engagement and marrying Jack Brooksbank. Eugenie also works full-time as the associate director at Hauser & Wirth, a contemporary gallery in Mayfair, London. She and her husband live at Ivy cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
