He starred in Emmerdale and appeared on I’m A Celebrity , but it’s his new job in property that has got Adam Thomas raking it in.
Over the summer, Adam, 30, took on work at a property management company owned by a businessman friend and does three days a week.
He says: “I’ve made a fortune. I’m in between jobs.
"I was just at home, waiting for a phone call to do an audition – I needed something to tick me over.”
The actor and his wife Caroline have two children, and Adam says: “I’ve got a family to support at the end of the day, so I needed some sort of income.
"It’s great for my own sanity to get out there and start working.”
But Adam, who was speaking at the launch of Heineken’s Brewing Good Cheer campaign to help combat loneliness at Christmas, insists he isn’t turning his back on acting.
He recently starred in Nativity! The Musical, and will appear in new BBC drama Pitching In, set in Wales, alongside former I’m A Celebrity camp-mate Larry Lamb.
Adam says: “We spent six weeks filming on a campsite. It was like a holiday.
"It was nice to be back in front of the camera, doing what I love.”
It was Larry who advised him to make the leap from Emmerdale last year.
Adam says: “He inspired me to want to get out there and do other things.
"I’ve had an absolute ball this year. It’s been tough.
"It’s not going to happen overnight. I’ve enjoyed the experience of finding myself.”
Heineken is hosting 100 pub lunches to combat loneliness. Adam and his brother Ryan attended one last week.
