Like A Boss has some big stars in it, with names such as Salma Hayek, Tiffany Hadish and Billy Porter coming together. The movie will see two businesswomen fight to keep their business going when a mysterious benefactor starts to take them over. When is Like A Boss released in cinemas?

The film was released in the USA on January 10, making it a movie to follow the Christmas holidays.

Like A Boss has then been slowly released across the world, and will be seen in UK cinemas on February 21.

Ireland will also be able to see the film at the same time as the UK, but the question seems to be whether you would want to go and see it.

Who is in the cast of Like A Boss?

Like A Boss has a massive cast, with Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne in the leading roles as Mia and Mel.

Salma Hayek plays Claire Luna, a cosmetics mogul, while Jennifer Coolidge (of Legally Blonde and American Pie fame) plays Sydney, Mel and Mia’s co-worker.

Billy Porter is Barrett, Mel and Mia’s employee, while Ari Graynor, Natasha Rothwell and Jessica St.Clair play Mel and Mia’s friends.

Karan Soni is Josh, Claire’s right hand mind, while Lisa Kudrow has a small, cameo-esque role as Shay.

Supporting plays include Jacob Latimore, Jimmy O. Yang, Ryan Hansen, Seth Rollins, the Merrell Twins Veronica and Vanessa, and Caroline Arapoglou.

What is the plot of Like A Boss?

The official synopsis from Paramount reads: “Best friends Mia and Mel (Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne) are living their best lives running their own cosmetics company they’ve built from the ground up.

“Unfortunately, they’re in over their heads financially, and the prospect of a big buyout offer from a notorious titan of the cosmetics industry Claire Luna (Salma Hayek) proves too tempting to pass up, putting Mel and Mia’s lifelong friendship in jeopardy.

“The beauty business is about to get ugly.”

There is a trailer for Like A Boss, showing the effects Mia and Mel’s being taken over by Claire.

In the movie, the pair are struggling financially, but they are also enjoying developing new products for their cosmetics line.

But when their business is partially bought out by Claire, things get dicey pretty quickly.

What do critics think of Like A Boss?

Sadly the movie has not performed particularly well with critics, gaining a 20 per cent rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

The Guardian’s Adrian Horton said: “Nothing in the script is remotely surprising or very funny, though nothing is horrendous, either.”

Meanwhile the Hollywood Reporter’s John DeFore said: “Quite funny for much of its running time, the film feels like it simply runs out of steam in its third act, settling for a lazy, pandering resolution and seeming happy to have made it to the 83-minute finish line.”
