Netflix dropped Lucifer at the start of May to positive reception from fans eager to watch the new episodes. Lucifer season four was released nearly a year after its shock cancellation by FOX before getting rescued by Netflix. Season four saw the arrival of a new character in the form of Eve (played by Inbar Lavi), who was Lucifer Morningstar’s (Tom Ellis) former flame.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Lucifer season 4
Lucifer season four ended on quite a shocking note as Lucifer decided to venture back into the depths of Hell when he realised his continued absence was causing some major problems.
Meanwhile, Lucifer’s ex-girlfriend Eve also decided to make tracks and go on a journey of self-discovery, telling Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) that she needed to find herself.
Eve realised that for too long she’d been putting the needs of men like Lucifer and Adam above her own and now it was time to find out what she wanted from life.
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SERIES OF LUCIFER?
She kissed Maze goodbye as she left Los Angeles for potentially a long while to go out and explore the world.
Eve had also lost the goodwill of everyone after she’d initially tried to lure Lucifer back to Hell.
When her first plan failed, she summoned the demon Dromos (Graham McTavish) to do her bidding but it all went a bit pear-shaped.
LUCIFER SEASON 4 ENDING EXPLAINED
Dromos broke away from her control and acted out alone, resorting to kidnapping Amenadial’s (D.B. Woodside) half-angel newborn Charlie to anoint him as the new leader of Hell.
But all of Dromos’ schemes were thwarted by Lucifer and his friends, who managed to defeat him and save the baby.
But could season five see the return of Eve – or even Lucifer for that matter?
WHY IS LUCIFER SEASONS 1, 2, 3 NOT ON NETFLIX?
According to the writers behind the cult show, the door has been left open for Eve to make a comeback.
Co-showrunner Joe Henderson told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview: “Here’s the thing: We loved working with Inbar.
“As you can see in the season, she’s absolutely fantastic. The question becomes, as we get into our room, how much story would we have for that character?
WILL LUCIFER RETURN FROM HELL?
“We set her off on an amazing new starting point for her life, so I think that’s one of the first thing we’ll discuss.
“My hope is, in whatever way, that’s not the last you’ve seen of Eve.”
Fellow Lucifer showrunner Ildy Modrovich added in response: “Good answer!”
If Eve does a comeback, perhaps she could be instrumental in bringing Lucifer back from Hell and redeem herself.
She would also add another element to the show and change the dynamic, particularly the relationship between Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and Lucifer, who confessed their love for one another in the season four finale.
