Ozark’s third season looks set to be its tensest yet if its new trailer and handful of first-look photos are anything to go by.
Starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, the crime-drama follows the Byrde family as patriarch Marty (Bateman) moves his family to the Ozarks in Arizona to make peace with a Mexican drug cartel.
And now it seems that in the third run of the show is certainly set to turn things up a notch.
In the trailer, we can see the Byrde’s marriage hit a stumbling block as Marty and his wife Wendy (Linney) are driven further apart by their dodgy dealings and the commitments they’ve made to drug lords.
It all seems to come to a head this season as the couple open a casino as a front for their money-laundering scheme.
Marital bliss also seems to be off the table, as in a stand-out moment we see Wendy pull a gun on her own husband.
We don’t think this problem is going to be solved through therapy, do you?
In another foreboding teaser to the new run of episodes, Marty can be seen blindfolded and being bundled into a car.
That’s going to end well, is it?
Fans of the Netflix hit won’t have to wait long to find out if the Byrde’s (and their marriage) survives, however – the full season drops 27 March.
Bateman and Linney aside, however, the cast of the drama seems to be expanding for its third run, with Iron Fist’s Tom Pelphrey and Jessica Frances Dukes, from Jessica Jones, being announced to join the cast.
Joseph Sikora from Power and Felix Solis have also been cast in recurring roles.
Lisa Emery and Janet McTeer, who play Darlene Snell and Helen Pierce on the show, have been bumped up to series regulars – so it seems they’re about to get a lot more involved as well.
Ozark season 3 drops 27 March on Netflix.
