I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! will crown its first-ever King or Queen of the Castle on Friday and bookmakers are fairly confident who will make it to the final. However, could outsider Russell Watson defy the odds and win this year’s series? Data from previous years’ winners suggests he has what it takes to win.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have priced Russell at 100/1 to win I’m A Celebrity 2020.
However, data analysed by Neo-Online suggests the classical music star has every chance of taking the ITV castle crown.
Thomas Jones, spokesperson for Neo-Online, revealed: “I’m a Celeb is back on our screens for 2020 – albeit with a new format to adhere to travel restrictions – so we decided to analyse details of previous contestants in a bid to predict this years’ winner.
“Of the 19 previous winners, 11 of them were male, and music stars won most often, followed by actors, reality stars and sports stars.

“Based on the previous success of music stars, Russell Watson could be in with the shot of becoming this year’s King of the Castle.”
Over the years, five music artists have won the series including Westlife’s Kian Egan most recently in 2013.
McFly star Dougie Poynter was crowned King of the Jungle in 2011.
While the year before Stacey Solomon, who was best known for being on the X Factor at the time, took the top spot.
Busted star Matt Willis won series six of I’m A Celebrity in 2006 and Kerry Katona was the first musician to win the series in 2004.
Does Russell have what it takes to defy the odds and win the series?
Although bookmakers may not fancy the classical musician’s chances, ITV viewers are hoping to see him wear the crown.
One tweeted: “#ImACeleb I want Russell to win,” while a second said: “#ImaCeleb Ruthie, Russell or Mo to win.”

Meanwhile, Ruthie Henshall became the second celebrity to be eliminated on Sunday.
The West End star revealed she regrets sharing details of her royal affair with Prince Edward during her exit interview.
Declan Donnelly asked: “Did you forget there were cameras?”
“I did,” she admitted before Dec cheekily added: “We are all wondering who’s going to play Ruthie Henshall in The Crown!”
“I’ve never talked about that, ever,” Ruthie hit back. “It was Shane, he asked me all these questions.”
Ruthie continued: “[The media] were saying before I went in that people were hoping I’d speak about it and I kept saying, ‘I’m not going to spill the beans.’”
Expressing regret at sharing her royal experiences, she added: ”I could have made some money from that!”
