For a man already prone to losing control of his temper, Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) is more unpredictable than ever in EastEnders in the wake of his murder of wife Chantelle.
In a state, with guilt and fear of being caught enveloping him, a dishevelled Gray is reaching the end of his tether – as shown in his recent outburst at the trial of Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty).
And tonight, things get worse, when he exposes his true nature to a stunned Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who is taken aback by the vitriol in him when he explodes with rage at her.
With everyone worried about Gray and the way he is living, Linda offers to look after the kids and then does some cleaning for Gray as he sleeps.
But when he awakes and finds out that Linda has washed a mug last used by Chantelle, he lets rip and exposes how much of a knife edge he is on.
Linda is shocked and frightened at first and then hits back – no matter how bad he is feeling, he does not threaten her.
Later, as Whitney’s QC comes down with food poisoning, Gray is required to give the final statements. He arrives just in time, but will he be able to help Whitney in her time of need?
Back home, Gray’s emotions reach boiling point – and there’s a sinister sense that things are going to get even worse…
