In life and love, things don’t always turn out the way that you want them to. Sometimes, the guy who you think you love and are engaged to ends up having a secret girlfriend that he lied about the whole time that you knew him. And sometimes, you try to go back to your backup guy only to find out that he has moved on and is dating an insanely gorgeous supermodel. We’ve all been there, right?
Maybe not. But former Bachelorette Hannah Brown certainly has. When she started her season of The Bachelorette, she was full of hope that she would find a life partner. As the season went on, the chances of her dreams actually coming true diminished as the men seemed more interested in fighting with one another than trying to pursue her.
But in the end, Brown chose Jed Wyatt, the one guy who had basically told her that he was there for the wrong reasons. But hey, the heart wants what it wants, right?
Wyatt and Brown
Wyatt was a walking red flag from the very beginning. He even brought a guitar with him and played it for Brown on the very first night they met, which just screamed “here for fame!”
Later in the show, Wyatt admitted that he originally came on the show to promote his musical career, but claimed that his feelings for Brown had grown into something real.
Still, Brown forgave him.
“When a guy walks in with a guitar, they’re notorious for… you’re always [suspicious] of something,” she told Entertainment Tonight during the season. “But all I’ve wanted is someone to be honest and real with me, and he was that. And so, he did exactly what I asked for him to do. I admired that.”
Wyatt and Brown’s breakup
After Wyatt and Brown got engaged, Brown started hearing rumors about Wyatt having a girlfriend.
Apparently, Wyatt had been dating musician Haley Stevens up until right before he left to film The Bachelorette. Before leaving, he allegedly told Stevens that he loved her and promised they would reconnect when he got back.
It was all too much for Brown and she eventually ended the engagement.
“I am not with Jed anymore,” she said at the Bachelorette live finale. “The engagement is over, we are not together. That is not what I said yes to. When I said those things, the things that I said to him on my engagement date, I thought that was my day, and I feel like that was taken from me and how special that was, and it’s been really hard to gravel with that, but I know that what I got is not what I ever wanted for a life partner and love that is not built on a foundation of trust and honesty. I have grown so much, and I know I deserved more than that.”
Brown and Tyler Cameron
Brown and her runner up, Tyler Cameron, had great chemistry. So much so that when the relationship didn’t work out with Wyatt, she tried to rekindle things with the James Dean lookalike.
Unfortunately, when Cameron went back into the real world, he started dating supermodel Gigi Hadid, which meant that a relationship with Brown was basically off of the table.
What does Wyatt have to say about Cameron and Hadid?
Wyatt has been pretty remorseful since his lies came to the light and has tried not to talk much about The Bachelorette.
But he recently weighed in on the whole Hadid, Cameron, Brown love triangle.
“I had heard about it,” he told People. “Ultimately I want everyone to be happy, whatever that means.”
“I will continue to support [them] though I haven’t paid too much attention to it. If everyone’s happy, then that’s what’s good.”
