Why is Chris Brown banned from the UK?

CHRIS Brown appears to be visiting the UK for the first time since his assault charge in 2009.

A video that has surfaced on social media appears to show the US singer in a London restaurant.

Why is Chris Brown banned from the UK?

Chris Brown was originally banned from entering the UK in 2010 after being arrested for assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 in a car after a Grammy’s party.

The singer pled guilty to felony assault of his then girlfriend in 2009.

In a statement in 2010, the Home Office said: “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence.

"Public safety is one of our primary concerns.”

The singer also had his visa application to tour in Australia formally denied on character grounds in 2015.

Has he been spotted in London?

A video that has been widely shared on Twitter appears to show Chris Brown in Mayfair restaurant Novikov.

A video posted on @The_Krakengemini’s Instagram seems to show Chris Brown seated at one of their tables.

The caption on video read: ‘You made it to London #Breezy,’ with the user tagging him.

Judge ruled that the singer had finally completed the terms of his probation in 2015, and it has been 11 years since his visa was first denied.

It appears that his ban on visiting the UK may have been lifted in this time period.

What is he up to now?

Chris Brown is has been working on a joint project, Slime & B, with Young Thug.

The project was entirely created at Brown's house during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Brown has been spotted filming music videos for the tracks.

In December 2019, the singer welcomed a son named Aeko Catori Brown with his on-off girlfriend Ammika Harris.

The pair have been spotted spending plenty of time together since the birth of their son.

Brown has also been credited with a guest feature on Drake's new mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes, but features sparsely on the record.
