Mindy Kaling is the latest star to debut a masterful hair transformation — only this time, she had two in one night. The actor attended the 2023 Oscars red carpet on Sunday, March 12 wearing a stunning white dress, supermodel nails, and long hair that cascaded down her back in a half-up-half-down style. While we loved her initial look, she didn’t keep it for long.
At some point in between the red carpet and the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, Kaling seemed to have chopped her hair into a bob haircut. (That, or she took out her extra-long extensions.) The cut, which looks to be all one length, hits Kaling just above the collarbone and features a deep side part. Celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena, who is responsible for the change, shared photos of the dramatic chop on his Instagram.
The bob, which is a classic cut in a short to medium-length style, is known for its versatility. It typically hits at your collarbone or rests right above the shoulders, and is a fan favorite among anyone who isn’t ready to commit to a super short cut. The long bob is also a popular haircut choice for celebrities, and stars like Chrissy Teigen, Jennifer Lopez, and Khloe Kardashian have all been seen with the look at one point or another.
