‘We’re like hamsters in glittery jumpsuits!’: Alesha Dixon joins Eurovision co-host Hannah Waddingham as they discuss their excitement ahead of the live final
Alesha Dixon joined her Eurovision co-hosts Hannah Waddingham, Graham Norton and Julia Sanina at a press conference in Liverpool on Friday.
The BGT star, 44, excitedly revealed she ‘couldn’t sleep’ ahead of the grand final on Saturday.
Meanwhile Ted Lasso star Hannah, 48, described the three female hosts – who have also fronted the two semi final shows – as ‘hamsters in glittery jumpsuits’.
Alesha said: ‘I can’t sleep. I’m still awake at 3am just trying to calm down from the energy. It’s fantastic.’
But said she was in need of more fresh air after a week of rehearsals and the two semi-final shows.

She commanded attention in a stylish green satin suit just 24 hours ahead of the competition’s grand final.
Alesha sported an oversized double-breasted blazer which she wore open and teased a hint of her gorgeous figure.
Sporting a radiant palette of make-up the stunner slicked back her raven tresses and completed the look with gold jewellery.
Meanwhile, Hannah looked sensational in a chic orange dress which hugged every inch of her beautiful curves.
The sleeveless frock showcased her toned arms and she accentuated her features with a light dusting of make-up.
Sweeping her blonde blocks into a chignon she let strands fall to frame her beautiful face.
The hosts showed no signs of nerves on stage as they spoke with the world’s media ahead of Saturday’s final that is expected to be watched by 180M viewers .
The British actress said it had been ‘lovely’ to work with her co-hosts in the build up to Saturday’s big show.

She said: ‘I love that I can watch them from the wings and just think ‘I’m getting to stand shoulder to shoulder with them’.’
Asked about the links she delivered in French, she said: ‘You want to show the hands across the water and try giving languages another go and I think it’s that fine line of wanting to be respectful and include it but not, you know, screw it up.’
Elsewhere actress Claire Sweeney, 52, who is commentating on the event for BBC Radio Merseyside told MailOnline she wished she’d have entered Eurovision in her youth.
‘I look back with a bit of regret that I never entered it when I was younger…. I feel like I’ve missed out… I had a song that would have been perfect’
She also teased that she would have to ‘reign herself in’ as she takes to the airwaves on Saturday evening.
Admitting: ‘There’s so many things I’d love to say. I could be honest but I don’t know how honest I can be’.

The local lass also gushed about Liverpool hosting and said it was the ‘perfect place’ for the world famous competition.
Going on to say: ‘ I couldn’t be prouder… The city has stepped up. We stand shoulder to shoulder and we include everyone… As they say in the song, all you need is love and that’s what it’s been’.
She also revealed exclusively to MailOnline that she filmed her first scenes on Coronation Street the same day as Eurovision’s first Semi Finals.
‘It was the most mental day in my career, and I can’t believe it’s happened to me at the age of 52… My first day on the cobbles I couldn’t believe it.’
Claire has been cast as Tyrone Dobb’s biological mother Cassie in the soap with her first scenes due to air later this year.
Earlier in the day Mae Muller looked in great spirits as she took to the stage at the Eurovision rehearsals.
The UK’s entry, 25, was quite literally flying the flag for her country as she skipped around while wrapped in the Union Jack.

Mae, who had been struggling with her voice and was put on vocal rest this week, looked back to her best as she practiced her performance.
Speaking about feeling under pressure the songstress said: ‘Sam Ryder winning, is hosting on behalf of Ukraine, going last’.
‘They’re all things I could get freaked out about. But they’re amazing experiences so I’m gonna look at them in a positive way. I can’t wait to get out here, it’s exciting’.
Discussing Liverpool hosting on behalf of war torn Ukraine she said: ‘Eurovision is proof that us as human beings can come together and no matter what the outcome tomorrow night, I will look back on this with such a sense of pride.’
Mae looked incredible in a black jumpsuit complete with a sheer bodice and a pair of heeled boots.

She wore her raven tresses in loose beachy waves and opted for a light covering of make-up.
Mae was joined on stage by a choreographer who was seen giving her direction as she rehearsed for the upcoming performance.
Discussing her entry Mae said: ‘I wrote the song a few days before I knew about Eurovision’.
She continued: ‘So I revisited the song and I put my Eurovision hat and thought it’s a way to connect with the audience. How can I make an intimate moment with 200 million people and that’s how’.
