The presenter, who has fronted The One Show for over a decade, had starred alongside Matt Baker until he announced his departure last year. Now, it has been confirmed that he will be replaced by two previous stand-in presenters.
It’s been lovely to get to know them both over the last year

Alex Jones, 44, has revealed that she is over the moon for the future, moments after the BBC announced that she will appear alongside singer Ronan Keating, 44, and former Tottenham Hotspur player Jermaine Jenas, 38.
During periods of absence, presenters including Alex Scott and Amol Rajan will take over as and when required.
Matt, 43, who appeared on the show between 2011 and 2020, stepped down in order to spend more time with his family after his mum had an accident on their farm.
The BBC announced that from May 10, Alex will feature alongside Jermaine on a Monday through to Wednesday, while Ronan will take the reins on Thursdays and Fridays.
Taking to her Instagram account in view of her 294,000 followers, Alex has now said: “BREAKING NEWS… We’re delighted to welcome @rokeating and @jjenas to The One Show team as my new co-hosts.
“It’s been lovely to get to know them both over the last year and we know our audience will enjoy getting to know them even more over the coming year.”
She added: “Some of our favourites like @rylan @alexscott2 @mrmichaelball and @amolrajan (who’s with me tonight) are still very much part of the family and you’ll still see a lot of these fantastic presenters. Exciting times ahead!!! #newera.”
Speaking of his new role on the programme, Jermaine said: “I’ve absolutely loved being a part of The One Show, Alex, the team and the viewers have made me feel so welcome and we’ve had a lot of fun already.
“I’m really looking forward to joining as a full-time host alongside Ronan.”
Ronan, who currently presents his own show on Magic Radio, added: “I’m so delighted to officially be a part of The One Show family.
“It’s a show I’ve loved for many years as both a guest and a host and I can’t wait to get started alongside Alex, Jermaine and the wonderful team behind the scenes.”
Meanwhile, editor of The One Show, Rob Unsworth said: “We’re thrilled to have Ronan and Jermaine join us as the regular One Show hosts alongside Alex on the sofa.
“It’s an exciting new chapter for the show, and we’re looking forward to viewers getting to know a different side to such well-known faces.”
Alex added that it’s a “special privilege” to present the programme “especially in the last year” during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Last month, Alex announced on The One Show that she was expecting her third child with husband Charlie Thompson.
Appearing opposite Ronan, Alex said: “It just seems like a good time to share some news with everybody, and the crew in the studio for the first time.
“Lockdown’s been anything but predictable and we’ve had some really unexpected news – baby number three is on the way.”
After being quizzed over the gender of her unborn child, she later went on to confirm that she would be welcoming a baby girl.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
