Alison Hammond ‘loving’ surprise ‘new job’ away from This Morning

Alison Hammond got some strange looks when she took on a new role away from her usual position on the This Morning sofa.

The bubbly TV presenter had people in hysterics when she turned up at London's Paddington Station on 15 June, announcing that she was now a chief inspector for Virgin Trains.

In a seemingly-commercial post on social media, Alison was encouraging the public to use the Virgin Trains Ticketing app, announcing, "I am the Chief Points Inspector today here at Paddington. It is absolutely amazing."

She tweeted: "I'm dressed like this, I am absolutely loving it." On Instagram, she cheekily added: "Do you think I can keep the hat?"

Last week, Alison opened up on her body insecurities as she shared her solidarity with viewers during an honest segment on This Morning.

The 48 year old TV star was presenting alongside her Friday co-host Dermot O'Leary, and the duo hosted a phone-in to discuss body hang-ups.

As nervous viewers rang up for advice on their personal issues, Alison, who also apologised to fans she'd blocked because she thought they were insulting her by calling her the "GOAT", shared her own experience with her body image.

Having already been incredibly open about her weight loss battle and yo-yo diets over the years, Alison has recently committed to a health and fitness drive in her life.

While the star has said she feels better than ever as she continues her journey, only last year she talked about suffering with "uncontrollable obesity".

As the presenters took a call from a viewer called Elaine, who has a long-term chronic condition called Lymphoedema, the caller opened up on how difficult she finds it to push past her embarrassment over being seen in public and going to the beach.

The condition causes swelling in tissues in the legs and other areas, but the viewer told Alison live on air that she "always looks good".

You're an inspiration to me," Elaine continued, as Alison thanked her in response.

"I have insecurities too. I feel like you do as well," the mum-of-one shared. "It's not all perfect. I don't like taking my jacket off. But you've got to enjoy your life as before you know it, we're not here. Your legs are beautiful.

"I go to the gym and people are staring at me. But that's all that happens, then they're going to worry about what's going on in their lives," Alison added.

Dermot gave his support to his co-star and the duo continued to share their kindness to those calling in from home.

Gushing over the pair's incredibly empathetic nature, fans praised them on Twitter.
