BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award viewers were left baffled as Mary Earps accepted the accolade on Tuesday evening.
The Lioness goalkeeper, 30 won the public vote after her performance during this summer’s World Cup.
Yet before the footballer even began her speech, fans were left baffled by Christopher Dean’s strange gesture of assistance towards Mary.
After announcing Mary as the well-deserving winner, the Manchester United player accepted the trophy off the ice skating legend before he pushed her forward.
The 65-year-old seemed to be guiding Mary into a specific spot of the stage as he manoeuvred her into position.

Taking to Twitter, viewers seemed confused by his actions.
One fan wrote: ‘Christopher Dean acting like a dad’ with a series of crying emoji faces.
Another questioned: ‘Christopher Dean giving her a wedgie here?’ as they referred to Mary’s dress which featured a daring display of lacy underwear.
Another added: ‘Well done to Christopher Dean for making that moment all about him!’
While Mary bagged the award, cricketer Stuart Broad finished in second place, while athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson was third.
The Lioness was on a six-person shortlist for the main award alongside Broad, Johnson-Thompson, wheelchair tennis player Alfie Hewett, jockey Frankie Dettori and golfer Rory McIlroy.
She was the favourite to win the award after starring at the World Cup for the Lionesses, conceding just four goals in their run the final and winning the Golden Glove trophy.

A second commented: ‘So #SPOTY has been downgraded to a Tuesday night viewing. How about the @BBCSport try bringing Grandstand back so that people can watch all different sports.
‘Then they will have more interest and it can be put back on its rightful place of Sunday night.’
