Turns out Beyoncé wrote a song for the upcoming moving King Richard, which Just Jared reports audiences heard for the first time during the film’s screening at the 2021 Telluride Film Festival.
Since Beyoncé wrote an original song for the movie, this makes her eligible for the Best Original Song category at the Oscars. And since King Richard is expected to be a major awards contender (with Will Smith poised to take home Best Actor), it seems pretty likely that Queen Bey will be nominated.
