Jenna Johnson has revealed she is expecting her first child with fellow dancer husband Val Chmerkovskiy and shared: “It all seems so magical and meant to be”.
The Dancing With the Stars favourite, 28, and husband, Val, 36, announced the happy news as she approached the second trimester of her pregnancy.
The star described finding out she was pregnant with People on Friday.
She said: “We got home [from a trip to Cabo] and about two weeks later I was like, 'Wait a minute, my boobs are feeling very big and very sore. I haven't started my period yet.' So I peed on a stick and immediately it just turned positive."
She continued: "The shock and just disbelief was insane. I couldn't believe it because it wasn't an easy journey for us to get pregnant."
She went on to talk about the couple’s journey to parenthood. She said: "But everybody tells you, 'When you just relax and you don't put the stress on yourself, it happens for you.' That's exactly what happened. I think it was exactly when it was meant to be. Our little baby was created with a lot of love. It all seems so magical and meant to be."
The reality star told the publication how she revealed the news to husband Val.
She shared the sweet way she told him she was pregnant. She revealed how she got a pair of white Baby Jordans trainers and put them in a box that was Val's size of Nikes.
Jenna said she then put two pregnancy tests in it and waited for Val to come home. "Shaking" as he arrived, she found it "ironic" how he had a bag of Nikes in his hands as he walked through the door.
"I was like, 'Did you go shopping today?' He was like, 'Yeah, I got myself some new sneakers.' I'm like, 'No way. I got some too today," she explained.
Jenna said he then came over and lifted the lid as she shared: "He looked at the shoes and was like, 'How small are these sneakers?' Then it hit him and his face… It was priceless."
Jenna also shared the news with a selection of images of her and Val and captioned them: "Our biggest dream come true yet.
"Baby Chmerkovskiy coming this January! My heart has grown beyond comprehension while growing this little miracle inside of me. We can’t wait to meet our precious angel."
Model Sailor Brinkley Cook congratulated the couple. She wrote: "Im crying"
Followed by: "So happy for you!!!!!!!!"
Model Christie Brinkley also rushed to the comments box to say: "That’s going to be one extremely talented and beautiful baby! Congratulations I’m so happy for you."
The couple met when they were colleagues on Dancing With The Stars in 2014 and started out as friends but their relationship developed and they became a couple in 2015.
Despite a split, the pair reunited and married in 2019.
