David Walliams ‘signs new deal with Britain’s Got Talent’ following rumours rival Piers Morgan was set to replace him on the judging panel
David Walliams has reportedly signed a new deal for Britain’s Got Talent, bringing him back for the upcoming fifteenth series.
The deal means former judge Piers Morgan will not be rejoining the judging panel as he previously hinted he would if David left the show, calling him ‘treacherous’.
According to The Sun, David’s place on the panel is secure and he will return alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

A source said: ‘All four judges will be back this year, so it’s business as usual on BGT. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
‘The format is still a great one, and that involves all four judges, including David.
‘He does sometimes press Simon’s buttons in the wrong way but it’s hard to imagine him not being there.’
The publication also reports that suggestions Piers could also join the panel as a fifth judge were quickly put to bed.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for David Walliams and Britain’s Got Talent for comment.
Piers was a judge on the ITV series on the first four series before his nemesis David joined in series six.
The former Good Morning Britain host previously told the Sunday Mirror: ‘I do have conversations with BGT every now and again, particularly after Simon had his injury. But I couldn’t work with Walliams. I think he is a duplicitous, treacherous, piece of work.
‘He is one of those people who says one thing to your face and then sticks it to you behind your back. If he was sitting there I wouldn’t be interested. But if he wasn’t sitting there, who knows?
‘I will come back to BGT if the money is right and if they guarantee Walliams gets fired. I might even make it a contractual clause that I get to be the one who tells him he is fired. If I was him I would stick to writing children’s books.’

It comes after Britain’s Got Talent 2021 was cancelled earlier this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The talent show had already been postponed due to safety concerns and the restrictions brought about by tier systems and lockdowns.
But after several weeks of speculation, it was confirmed that the show will now not return to screens until 2022.
Bosses of the show said that despite the efforts of the teams at ITV, Thames and head judge Simon Cowell’s Syco, they were forced to call plans off.

They said: ‘With our absolute priority of safeguarding the well-being and health of every person involved in the programme from judges, hosts and contestants to all of the crew and audience, the decision has been made to – unfortunately – move the record and broadcast of the 15th series of Britain’s Got Talent to 2022.
‘BGT is known for its diversity of talent with big dance groups, wonderful choirs and lavish orchestras at its heart, and it has become clear that not only is it not possible to film auditions with these types of acts in a secure way but also that they are not able to adequately rehearse and prepare safely.
‘Safety has to come first and, as a result, the recording of the show can’t currently go ahead as planned.’
