The following article includes a brief mention of suicide ideation.
Donald Trump Jr. is weighing in on all the drama surrounding The Talk.
The daytime talk show went on hiatus as CBS announced it is investigating the show, following a heated debate between Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The drama began with a conversation on Piers Morgan, who was under fire for comments he made about not believing Meghan Markle’s claims about her time in the royal family during her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Morgan’s insensitivity towards mental health (Meghan revealed she contemplated suicide), led to an investigation on his own morning show. The British talk show host then stormed off set as his co-host confronted him about the comments, and eventually announced he would no longer be hosting Good Morning Britain.
The ladies of The Talk discussed the debacle and the allegations that Morgan was making racist comments, with Sharon Osbourne opting to support Morgan, who is her friend. Osbourne’s co-host Sheryl Underwood confronted her, asking, “What would you say to people who may feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree?” Osbourne didn’t take the question too well, asking how she could be racist and telling Underwood that “if anyone should be crying, it should be me.”
The heated on-air convo has led to many social media users chiming in with their thoughts — including Donald Trump Jr.
Donald Trump Jr. calls the CBS investigation 'insane'
After news broke that CBS would be investigating their daytime series, The Talk, following an intense discussion between Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood, Piers Morgan took to Twitter to chime in on what he thought about his friend defending him on-air.
“So @CBS has yanked The Talk off air while it investigates the ‘scandal’ of @MrsSOsbourne defending me when @sherylunderwood said I was ‘racist’ for disbelieving Meghan Markle,” wrote Morgan on Twitter. “The REAL scandal is me being branded a racist for refusing to believe a liar.”
Donald Trump Jr. then retweeted Morgan, writing, “This is getting insane! Now other shows are being pulled off the air because someone who actually knows someone else doesn’t believe they’re racist simply because someone else accused them of it with no basis simply because he didn’t believe someone else. Got it?!? @piersmorgan.”
If you couldn’t follow all those “someone”s, Trump Jr. seems to be claiming Underwood called Morgan racist with no backing, only because he doesn’t believe Meghan Markle’s story. Although Sharon Osbourne has since apologized for the heated conversation, it is yet to be determined what the outcome of CBS’ investigation will be.
