Have you heard? Kristen Stewart is engaged! The actress announced her engagement to Dylan Meyer, a screenwriter and actress, on Nov. 2. Although the pair have been publicly an item for a couple of years, we still don’t know a ton about Meyer or her famously private relationship with Stewart.
Meyer is a multitalented member of the film industry, with credits both behind the camera and on-screen. For the most part, her acting credits have been in short films, including The Death and Return of Superman (2011), the 2015 documentary short Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling, and Jem Reacts to the New Jem and the Holograms Trailer (2015). She also appeared alongside Stewart in an episode of Homemade, a series of short films produced at home during the 2020 lockdowns.

For the most part, however, Meyer’s biggest credits have been as a screenwriter. She earned her first writing credit in 2015 with a “story by” credit on the short film Loose Ends. The following year, she made her feature writing debut with XOXO, an Netflix original movie following the interconnected lives of six strangers over the course of one night. From 2017 to 2018, Meyer wrote eight episodes of the go90 sci-fi series Miss 2059, marking her first TV series writing credit. She also wrote the 2019 short film Rock Bottom.
It’s Meyer’s most recent screenwriting credit, however, that launched her career to the next level: she’s one of the two screenwriters for the 2021 Netflix film Moxie. Along with co-screenwriter Tamara Chestna, Meyer adapted Jennifer Mathieu’s novel about a teenager who gets inspired by her mom’s activist past to start an anonymous zine calling out sexism at her own high school. Amy Poehler directed and starred in the movie, which marked Meyer’s highest-profile project to date.

Outside of her career, Meyer clearly prefers to keep the details of her life private. Although she occasionally shares photos of her friends or of her and Stewart, her Instagram is mostly filled up with some very aesthetically pleasing images of California life. She’s also clearly an animal lover, sharing plenty of pictures of Snack and Zsa Zsa, her two adorable cats with big personalities. Even with the increased attention on her now, with her public engagement, we hope Meyer will be able to continue living life on her terms and sharing exactly what she wants to, no more and no less!
