Helen Skelton 's ex-husband Richie Myler has addressed the "abusive" messages he's received on social media in the aftermath of his split from the Strictly Come Dancing star.
The rugby player, 32, and Helen, 39, split earlier this year, just four months after the birth of their third child. Since then he has started a relationship with partner Stephanie Thirkill, who’s currently pregnant with their child.
And now Richie has taken to Instagram to address online abuse he's received since his split from the TV presenter. Since posting he has made his account private.
He wrote: "I've decided to put my profile private from now on.
"If you are on here to share my photos or stories of me and my life maliciously to other people or waste your time sending me abusive messages please just unfollow me."
The Manchester Evening News reports that the dad-of-three then wrote: "I'm going to start removing people from my account one by one, so if you are a genuine rugby fan and I accidentally remove you I apologise in advance and will accept you back! Thank you Richie."
His now private account currently has 20.4K followers, while he is following just 379 accounts.
Richie's ex-wife TV presenter Helen, is currently competing in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, where she's been paired up with professional dancer Gorka Marquez.
Discussing her decision to appear on Strictly Helen said she’d have felt “disrespectful” to have turned down the opportunity.
Helen explained: "I think it would have been disrespectful for me to have not done Strictly. For my family, who need to see me have a great time.”
“It’s not just for me,” she sweetly added.
Helen’s comments came after doting dance partner Gorka Marquez shared some heartwarming words to the Countryfile star in the wake of her marriage split.
Talking to host Claudia Winkleman, Gorka asked if she could quickly say something to his partner.
The dad-of-one turned to Helen and sweetly reassured her as he told her she is "inspirational" and an "amazing woman"
He said: "I know you've been having a difficult time. I know you have, basically, been made to feel like you're not beautiful, or good enough or anything.
"But if you don't believe in yourself, I believed in you. Everybody here believes in you. Your family believes in you."
