Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona has said that she can relate to Phillip Schofield saying that his daughters "saved him" amid his latest drama.
On Thursday night, 61 year old Phillip broke his silence on the affair he had with a much younger colleague at This Morning and spoke openly about the impact the scandal has had on his mental health.
Kerry, 42, shared a TikTok of Phillip saying that his two daughters have saved his life on her Instagram as the fallout continued.
Kerry added that his struggles were "exactly how she felt" after her now infamous interview on This Morning in 2008, when Kerry was asked – live on air – about her slurred words.
Kerry was left humiliated when Phil was asked: "Your speech is a bit slurred, how are you feeling right now? Our phone is already going off up in the gallery from people asking is she ok.
"We are merely pointing out someone who is very different from a few years ago."
Her speech issues were due to medication she was taking for her bipolar disorder but she previously acknowledged that many people "thought I was off my head on drink or drugs" after her chat with Phil and then co-host Fern Britton.
Referring to Phil saying his kids have "saved" him in recent days, Kerry added: "This is exactly how I felt after the interview he did with me! If I didn't have my children I'd have killed myself!
"Things need to change drastically at ITV!! Nobody reached out to me after the interview or asked me what bipolar was, or what medication I was on!"
She finished up with: "To EVERYONE who's is involved with this I really hope that they are ALL getting the right support!!!"
Kerry has been vocal about her experience on This Morning in the wake of Phil's drama.
Earlier this week , she spoke out on GB New. Kerry said: "I don't think people understand what that interview did to me emotionally.
She continued: "Even now, when I go back to ITV – which isn't very often – there is a sense of snobbery. I feel like I have to impress them, I can't slur."
Back in 2021 , Kerry also spoke out about the interview on a more emotional level when she appeared on the Marnie's Home Truths podcast.
At the time, the TV personality said: "Next day, front page of the papers, 'Sherry Kerry', 'Merry Kerry'. It was just awful. I was suicidal. I wanted to die, I wanted to kill myself. It was everywhere."
