Luann de Lesseps Gets Hammered, Attempts Karaoke, Gets Thrown Out of Bar!

If you’ve followed her career with any interest, then you probably know that Luann de Lesseps has been battling alcoholism for quite some time.

The low point came back in 2017 when Luann kicked a police officer during one of her benders.

(This is apparently part of a pattern of her behavior for alcoholic Housewives — Kim Richards kicked a cop two years earlier!)

Or perhaps we should say we thought that would be her low point.

Now that we know Luann is still hitting the bottle, we suppose it’s possible that she has yet to hit rock bottom.

The latest discouraging update from the Countess’ life might be funny if it were an isolated incident.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Luann has engaged in this sort of behavior — and we fear it won’t be the last.

According to a new report from Page Six, Luann made quite a scene at the Townhouse piano bar over the weekend.

Sources say she was already drunk when she arrived, and she proceeded to take over the stage in an attempt to put on a show for the other patrons.

“Luann thought she was doing her act. She tried to sing [her own song] ‘Money Can’t Buy You Class,’ but they didn’t know it. They know standards,” one witness tells the outlet.

“She monopolized the piano, but that isn’t how it works; you sing [one song] and move on.”

The onlooker says Luann became irate when the piano player claimed he wasn’t familiar with her “hit” song.

“The piano player was like, ‘I don’t know the song,’ and she responded, ‘It’s a hit!’” says the source.

“It’s not a Cole Porter standard, it’s not ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow.’”

The insider says that Luann shouted “f–k you” at the crowd when they encouraged her to get off the stage.

The 56-year-old reportedly “yelled at the other patrons on the microphone” and then was “thrown out for getting aggressive with the bar’s customers.”

Luann has now issued a statement about the events of that night, and while she does not deny being intoxicated, she says things played out very differently than the original reports claimed.

According to Luann, she had spent the day working and then attended a Broadway show with producer Jim Kierstead.

The pair then made their way to Townhouse, where — according to Luann — the crowd insisted that she belt out a few of her hits.

“I was at rehearsals all day yesterday [for her upcoming cabaret show at Feinstein’s/54 Below], then went to dinner with Broadway producers. We were in a celebratory mood and drinking champagne,” Luann says.

“I got up and sang a few Broadway songs they were playing.

“I realize I was a little bit tipsy, but we were having fun, and it was getting late,” Luann continues.

“I’d been rehearsing, and I was in the mood to sing a few songs. Then Jim said to me, ‘Lu, I have an early rehearsal,’ and then we left around midnight, 11:30 p.m.”

“After a birthday party for a NY theatre personality, Luann and I went to the Townhouse for a nightcap,” Kierstead says in a statement of her own.

“She was met by legions of her fans and was convinced to sing for them.”‘

Legions of fans, eh?

We’ll, um … leave it up to you to decide which version of events sounds more plausible.
