Shona Manderson has opened up about watching her journey on Married At First Sight UK, admitting it's been "really painful" to relive her experience over the past few weeks.
The performing arts teacher, 31, was paired with model Brad Skelly, 27, on the E4 show. While the pair's relationship started off well thanks to their instant connection, it soon turned sour and they were both asked to leave MAFS with the experts deeming their romance 'toxic'.
Shona, who is reportedly dating new groom Matt Pilmoor, has since spoke out about her relationship with Brad and MAFS experience on social media and in interviews, giving fans an idea of what went on behind the scenes.
In a new interview on the MAFS Hysteria podcast, hosted by Omar Abid, Claire Limmer-Abid and Sarah Clarke, Shona has admitted that watching the new series of MAFS, which was filmed earlier this year, has been "wild".
"It was wild to go through all of that and then process that and then relive it again," she said.
When asked if watching the show had been painful, Shona admitted: "Yeah, really painful. The last few weeks I've just been like, going out with my hood up and feeling like, just a little bit in my shell.
"I think it's actually been quite therapeutic reliving it again. Like, let's close that chapter now. It's been such a build of 'I've processed it', and I knew I was going to have to relive it again. And now, I've closed it. Closed it forever."
Despite finding reliving her experience painful, Shona went on to say she's in a "good headspace" now, which makes her feel comfortable and confident to talk about MAFS.
Elsewhere, she revealed that after she and Brad left the experiment back in April they actually stayed together for around six weeks and tried to make their relationship work in the real world. However, Shona said it was "a lot of the same" despite leaving MAFS and eventually they parted ways after realising their "energies" were just "not working".
Shona's latest interview comes amid reports she's found love with new MAFS groom Matt Pilmoor, despite his wedding only being broadcast on the show earlier this week.
Shona recently told fans she'd found love with the "kindest soul" after leaving the experiment, but was careful to keep her new man's identity under wraps. However, she and Matt were reportedly spotted on a date together in a Starbucks coffee shop. According to The Sun, the newspaper has also managed to obtain a snap of the pair enjoying coffees and snacks together.
“They were chilling together in Starbucks and looked very relaxed in each other’s company," a source told the publication. “They even brought their pet dog along. They must have been together for a while because they were hardly dressed to impress."
