Paris Hilton reveals engagement to Carter Reum
Paris Hilton’s Met Gala debut didn’t exactly get off to the strongest start.
The socialite, 42, was brought to a dramatic halt on her way to the famous fashion event held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, USA.
“Tax the Rich” protesters stepped out in front of Hilton’s entourage, stopping the blacked-out van carrying her to the venue on Monday.
Footage shared on Twitter shows the memorable moment activists blocked the vehicle in the middle of a nearby street.
One group were seen carrying a banner which read: “The 1% are killing the climate.”

Paris eventually made it to the star-studded ceremony, which was held in tribute to the late Chanel creative designer Karl Lagerfeld.
He was the subject of this year’s Met Gala theme, “in honour of Karl”.
The German-born designer, who died in 2019, helmed some of the biggest houses in fashion.
Speaking of the night’s theme on Instagram, Paris previously wrote: “Karl has always been a fashion inspiration to me.
“Such an icon and innovator. Love that he is the theme of this year’s Met Gala.”
Talking on the red carpet, she told Vogue: “Karl and I hung out in Paris a couple times and he was just such an inspiration to me always and we had so much fun and just so many memories.
“I’ve always looked up to him in so many ways and I love that we’re honouring him tonight.”
The Met Gala takes place each year on the first Monday of May, and guests were dressed in their most glamorous outfits for the extravagant event.
