Sophie Ellis Bextor performs on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has taken to Twitter to explain to fans why they can’t find her Glastonbury 2023 set on BBC iPlayer.
In view of her 212k followers, she tweeted: “I’m getting a lot of messages asking about watching my @glastonbury set on iPlayer.
“Obviously, that would have been wonderful, but sadly due to hours on the day it wasn’t possible for the BBC to cover my set. Next time…! Xx” (sic)
Following the clarification, Twitter fans quickly shared their disappointment, with one user asking: “Why does @bbcglasto not like happiness and fun?”
And another slammed the decision by calling it “ridiculous.”

Sophie’s confirmation came after she shared an image of her on stage at the Somerset festival, which prompted eager fans to ask why they couldn’t find it on BBC iPlayer.
Wearing a beautiful fringe leotard in striking gold, Sophie, 44, posed with her band for a selfie in front of the crowd.
Posting the image on the social media site, she captioned it: “Career Highlight. Xxx #Glastonbury #PyramidStage” followed by a red heart emoji. (sic)

Fans of the Murder on the Dancefloor singer were quick to share their disappointment at missing out on what was bound to have been a sensational set.
One Twitter user said: “Shame only people attending could see it.”
“Huge congratulations and so well deserved!” another fan commented, before adding with a sad face emoji: “Wish we could all see this career achievement.”
And a third chimed in, “Ridiculous it’s not on iplayer!! @BBCSounds @BBCiPlayer.” (sic)
Sophie famously became a viral sensation during lockdown when she tried to cheer up the masses by turning her kitchen into a disco and live-streaming her performances on social media.
After embarking on a sell-out Kitchen Disco Tour in venues across the UK, the singer’s show at the London Palladium was turned into a 24-track live album called Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco: Live at the London Palladium.
Due to the demand, Sophie will be heading back on tour with her Christmas Kitchen Disco Tour throughout December, visiting venues including Sheffield City Hall, London’s Eventim Apollo and Portsmouth Guildhall.
