But we shouldn't look over the fact that many of the braids and twists we enjoyed wearing during childhood have made a major comeback.

Jumbo Twists
As seen on Ciara on the January 2021 cover of Self, the star's take on the nostalgic style features loosely curled side tendrils and sleek parts. You can recreate this look by parting your hair into big sections, then wrapped Goody's Ouchless Clear Hair Ties at the base. Bantu Knots

Back in the day, our mothers used to put our hair in Bantu knots after wash day. But now, they're cute for whenever. Space Buns or Afro Puffs
I remember I loved when my mom styled my hair this way as a kid, because it reminded me of Minnie Mouse (my hero at the time). To re-create this look, part your hair down the middle and use your favorite gel to slick it down into two ponytails — Eco Styler is my favorite. Next, you can either braid your hair and wrap it around the base, like Yara Shahidi, or leave it loose to create two puffs. Add any hair accessories you like.
Straight Back Cornrows
Upgrade your straight backs by playing around with your baby hairs. Gabrielle Union's go-to hairstylist Larry Sims used their line Flawless' Repairing Edge Tamer to create a wavy look for the star.
